SPANISH COURSE: THANK YOU to everyone who has been participating in our Spanish for Beginners ten week course this summer. If you already know some Spanish and want to come for this Tuesday (Week 9: Subjunctive, present perfect tense, and more) or the following week (Week 10: Cumulative review) for a refresher, you are welcome to join anytime ($10 per interactive Zoom meeting): register here. By popular demand, I will be doing a Part 2 for this course (an additional 10 weeks) – please let me know if you are interested. I am also planning to repeat Part 1 (virtually once again) if you are interested in learning Spanish this fall.
I was blessed with the opportunity to share a little about the project at another local church in Newville! A special thank you to the locals who have been participating in the Spanish course and supporting this project!
Next month, Friday, August 7th through Thursday, August 13th , we are looking for volunteers to help at the shop in Newville. To sign up, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the day & time you are able to come by (after 9:30am; not Sunday) – this will allow us to maintain a limited number of volunteers and practice appropriate safety measures. Needs include: General construction (indoors and outdoors; bring a hammer, level, gloves, and anything you think you may need – we have one circular saw and some basic power tools but not many). Deep cleaning (pressure washing, sweeping, mopping, dusting, floor restoration to possibly include repainting the floor). Landscaping (planting, leveling ground, etc.). General repair/miscellaneous tasks (assembling and painting picnic tables that were donated, etc.). To make a tax-deductible donation to be used for materials, click this Flipcause link and type “materials” in the comments.
Our new and improved website is almost done thanks to the generous men of Course Vector! Stay tuned!
Also, the pandemic continues to be a severe situation in Honduras so they are predicting it will not be possible to obtain coffee or other products until next year (please keep the developing world in your prayers as well during these times). However, the project is continuing as we are able, still focusing on opening the shop in Newville.
I hope your summer is going well.

P.S. For the month of June I took a much needed break to my home state of Florida 🙂 However, now I am back in Pennsylvania and am getting back to work! (pic is of the sunset at the beach before the virus outbreak surged again)
